Daughter, Sister, Teammate, Student, Friend, Warrior, Champion.

A lot of words describe Alexis. To her friends, she was as loyal and fun as can be. To her teammates, no one fought harder until the last out. To her family, she was the best daughter, sister, and cousin you could ask for.

Born on June 1, 2001, Alexis took to playing softball before she could walk. An perennial all-star at every level of prep sports, from little league to high school, Alexis went to the University of South Florida on a softball scholarship, where she also studied Criminology. But if there’s one thing that Alexis loved more than competing at the highest level possible, it was the time spent with her family and friends.

Her teammates called her “Buc,” and immediately after being diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer in 2021, #BucSTRONG became a rallying cry in support of the person who always supported everyone else.

Alexis’s battle with brain cancer came to an end on February 15, 2024. But she will always be in our hearts, in our memories, and in our dreams, where she will always BucSTRONG.
